Fred Kasper Memorial Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of our individual and corporate donors, Boxwood is pleased to continue the Fred Kasper Memorial Scholarship program and offer two tuition-free positions for this summer's festival & workshop in Nova Scotia.

2010 Scholarship Program

The 2010 Fred Kasper Memorial Scholarship is open to all applicants who will be under 30 years of age as of July 1, 2010. Scholarships are open to players of all instruments, singers and dancers. We grant one scholarship to a young artist who is in primary or secondary school (age 18 or under), and second scholarship to a young adult (age 19-29).

Interested applicants should submit the following:
- a short written description of your musical and extra-musical interests and experience, including your thoughts on what you can bring to Boxwood and how Boxwood will benefit you and your artistic pursuits.
- a short recorded sample of your playing, singing or video of your dancing.

Submissions must be received on or before May 1, 2010. Scholarship recipients will be notified by May 15, 2010. Submissions may be made electronically via Word document & MP3 file and sent to this address. Submissions via regular mail should be on CD only and sent to:

Accommodations for scholarship awardees

Accommodation during the week is the responsibility of the student, however our awardee will have a priority position in billeting with our local hosts IF billeting spots are still available. For more information on billeting and lodging options, please visit our Participant Info page.
