Fred Kasper Memorial Scholarship

Thanks to the generosity of our individual and institutional donors, Boxwood is pleased to continue the Fred Kasper Memorial Scholarship program and offer tuition-free positions for this summer's festival & workshop in Nova Scotia.

2018 Scholarship Program

The 2018 Fred Kasper Memorial Scholarship is open to all applicants who will be under 30 years of age as of July 1, 2018. Scholarships are open to players of all instruments, singers and dancers. We typically receive funding to grant two scholarships, one to a young artist who is in primary or secondary school (age 18 or under), and second scholarship to a young adult (age 19-29).

We're pleased to congratulate:

Piper O'Neil-Doak: Halifax, Nova Scotia - keyboards, dance, vocals

Allan Evans: Castlemaine, VIC, Australia - harp, flutes

Our Boxwood scholarship winners will present a shared 30 minute recital on Wednesday July 25 @ 12 noon at St. John's Anglican Church, Lunenburg. Admission is free and all are welcome; please join us to congratulate these wonderful young musicians!

Accommodations for scholarship awardees

Accommodation during the week is the responsibility of the student, however our awardee(s) will have a priority position in billeting with our local hosts. For more information on billeting and lodging options, please visit our Participant Info page.
