BOXWOOD CANADA 2015

Public events are presented by Boxwood. Tickets and reservations for all events commence on July 1, 2015. Tickets may be purchased in three ways:

  • after July 1 at Shop On The Corner in Lunenburg; 263 Lincoln St., Lunenburg, 902-634-3434
  • on-line via PayPal on this page
  • at the door for each event starting roughly 45 minutes before starting time

Concert tickets for Sunday July, 19 and Saturday July 25 are $25 each suggested donation, $5 for students (door only).
Concert tickets for Wednesday July, 22 are $20 each suggested donation, $5 for students (door only).
Ceili dance tickets (July 25) are $15 suggested donation.

Tempest Baroque Ensemble led by David GREENBERG with guest soloists:
Francis COLPRON - baroque flute & recorder, Adrian GREENBAUM - baroque flute & viola

Tempest is Maritime Canada's premeire early music ensemble, led by the internationally acclaimed violinist David Greenberg. They'll present a concert that features their own distinct repertoire and style featuring Francis COLPRON - baroque flute & recorder, Adrianne GREENBAUM - baroque flute, and other renowned guest artists.

BIG BOXWOOD CEILI DANCE

St. John's Anglican Parish Hall
64 Townsend St., Lunenburg

Bring your dancing shoes for a rollicking ceili dance in one of Canada’s most historic venues with callers Elizabeth MacDONALD and Pauline HINGSTON. The breaks will offer some gorgeous solo dancing from Marlys NORMAN and sizzling percussive dancing from Nic GAREISS. An exhilarating ceili dance with Boxwood’s monster staff on the bandstand (visit our artists page). Undoubtably one of the best dances in Nova Scotia all year!

Boxwood's remarkable finale concert has become an eagerly anticipated annual event in Lunenburg. This year we feature performances by some of the most powerful and exciting traditional musicians on the scene today: Conal O'GRADA- flute playing from Cork, Wendy MacISAAC & Mary Jane LAMOND with Seph, The magical Moldovan panpipes of Dr. Rod GARNETT, amazing percussionist Nick HALLEY, Chris NORMAN, David GREENBERG, the Boxwood FLUTE CHOIR, and many more.
